SGC ANNUAL EXCHANGE PORTFOLIO

Regular and student members attending the conference are eligible to participate in the annual exchange.  This year, we are asking all participating artists to respond to the conference theme of Print Gumbo!  Please do not submit prints that are unrelated to the theme of Gumbo (that is, a mix of cultures, music, improvisation, etc.)

Editions should consist of twelve impressions numbered 1/12 to 12/12, using any archival material in an 11 x 14 inch format.  The portfolios will not be slipsheeted. Therefore, please use archival, not staining, non-rubbing inks and materials. No prints may be thicker than 1/16 of an inch. Editions which do not conform to these guideline may be excluded at the discretion of the organizers.

Ten of the prints will be redistributed to other participants in a random selection process.  The remaining two prints from each edition will be retained as a complete set for the Southern Graphics Council Archives at the University of Mississippi and for donation to the New Orleans Museum of Art.

If you plan to participate in the portfolio, please indicate this on your conference registration form. If you are not attending the conference you may not participate in the exchange portfolio.

Editions are to be dropped off in person along with the $7 (cash only) fee at conference registration, between Wednesday 3pm to 8pm or on Thursday from 8am to noon ONLY. The completed portfolio will be exhibited on Friday at the conference.

A $7 (cash only) fee payable at the time of drop-off, will cover the cost of the portfolio container.  Participants will receive a portfolio receipt which will be needed to claim their collated portfolio on Friday morning.

This year's portfolio is being organized by April Flanders and her students from the University of Florida in Gainesville.
