The College of Social Work at the University of Tennessee has a proud tradition of over sixty years of social work education. Field practice is the internship portion of the M.S.S.W. program and it is a critical component of each student's program. Students work with experienced social work professionals in a variety of settings to complement classroom theory and research. The College works closely with placement agencies and field instructors to give each student a quality field experience.

We believe this opportunity to apply classroom learning in the field allows students to master and synthesize social work knowledge, values and skills.
