Questions

Position of words in questions:
There are no helping verbs in Spanish:

English: Does Juan go to school?
Spanish: ¿Juan va a la escuela? (Juan goes to school?)

Note that the inflection at the end of a declarative entence will indicate a question


Spanish: ¿Juan va a la ESCUELA?
English: (Juan goes to SCHOOL?)

In a Spanish question, it is also acceptable to say the verb first, followed by the subject:
¿Va Juan a la escuela? (Goes Juan to school?)
