  17. GPS Tracking, Time-Geography Applications for Activity Modeling and Microsimulation Specialist Meeting sponsored by the U.S. Federal Highway Administration. This meeting, which assembled experts to discuss potential approaches on using GPS vehicle traces for defining space-time paths and prisms to be used in activity modeling and microsimulation for transportation analysis, was held at Upham Hotel, Santa Barbara, California, November 10-11, 2005.
  18. Information and Communications Technologies (ICT): Mobilizing Persons, Places, and Spaces Specialist Meeting sponsored by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research and Utrecht University. This meeting, which focused on assessing the effects of ICT on individual activity and travel behavior as well as their implications, was held in Doorn, The Netherlands, November 4-7, 2004.

  19. Third Focus Group Meeting on Information and Communication Technologies, Innovation and the Transport System - Sustainable Transport in Europe and Links and Liaisons with America (STELLA)/Sustainable Transportation Analysis and Research (STAR) sponsored by the European Commission’s 5th Framework Programme for Research and Development (STELLA project), the U.S. National Science Foundation (STAR project), and Transport Canada for three years (2002-2004). This Focus Group focused on comparative North American and European analyses of the ways in which information and communication technology (ICT) are intersecting with new ways of living and working within metropolitan regions. The third focus group meeting was held in Budapest, Hungary, April 22-23, 2004.
  20. Second Focus Group Meeting on Information and Communication Technologies, Innovation and the Transport System – Sustainable Transport in Europe and Links and Liaisons with America (STELLA)/Sustainable Transportation Analysis and Research (STAR) sponsored by the European Commission’s 5th Framework Programme for Research and Development (STELLA project), the U.S. National Science Foundation (STAR project), and Transport Canada. This meeting was held in Newcastle, United Kingdom, May 8-10, 2003.
  21. Action-Oriented Approaches in Geographic Information Science Workshop sponsored by the U.S. National Science Foundation. This meeting was held in Holden, Maine, November 2-4, 2002. The aim of this workshop was to lay the foundations for a principled account of dynamic features of geographic space and to clarify and define a research agenda for action-oriented approaches in geographic information science.
