JOINT FACULTY ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR POSITION
   
 IN EXPERIMENTAL HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS

at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Tennessee
invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Associate Professor
within the field of Experimental High-Energy Physics.  This position is offered
jointly  between  the  University of  Tennessee  and  the  Physics Division  at
Oak Ridge National Laboratory
.  The University  HEP  group  is  involved in
KamLAND  experiment in Japan, plans to participate in  BTEV experiment at
FNAL
and to develop a new reactor-based experiment for  neutron-antineutron
transition search.  The ORNL   Nuclear Physics group currently participates in the
PHENIX experiment at RHIC and prepares fundamental physics experiments
with neutrons to be carried out at the Spallation Neutron Source . The group is also
interested in the possibility of using neutrinos produced by SNS in the proposed
ORLAND facility.

The successful candidate is expected to have a strong and internationally recognized
research record, an outstanding promise for future research accomplishments, and a
strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. In addition, the candidate
must have experience in the following research areas: Ultra relativistic Heavy
Ion Physics, Neutrino Physics and Fundamental Physics with Neutrons. Candidates
must have a Ph.D. in High-Energy or Nuclear Physics and suitable postdoctoral or
faculty experience. Applicants should send a CV, a letter describing future research
