I was born in Texas, and lived most of my live until age 29
in Texas, mostly in the Arlington,
Texas area. I went to undergraduate school at Trinity
University, in San Antonio,
Texas.
I then went to Southern Methodist
University in Dallas, Texas, where I obtained the M.S. and
Ph.D. degrees from the Department
of Statistics. I've been on the faculty in the Departments
of Statistics at Texas A & M University and the University
of Florida, as well as working at the Harris Corporation for a
good portion of the 1980s.
