I should tell you what I think Jesus would say to Bob Dylan. I don't claim to know this with any authority - I've only had 4 seminary classes so far - but I can take a stab at it. First, I think he'd say, "Bob, I've gotta tell you, man. I really loved "Gotta Serve Somebody." Then maybe he'd say "Bob, we've known each other a long time now. I know your hurts, your disappointments, your sin. I know every time you've fallen short, and I know every time you've called upon me to help you through. Please know this: I, for one, don't expect you to be God. My relationship with you is not based upon how well you perform or how well you fill my emptiness, because I have no emptiness. In fact, I'm overflowing. Worship Me."
This comes from a sermon "What would Jesus say to Bob Dylan," given by Pat Kahnke, 1997.
