Collage Illustration of
Yehudi Menuhin as a young boy

The above collage illustrated articles in the January 1928 edition of The Musician and the February 1928 edition of the Musical Observer (Antrim, 1928; Brower, 1928). The man seated at the piano is Louis Persinger, Menuhin's teacher and then concertmaster of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. The picture in the upper left corner is, of course, the photograph of Yehudi Menuhin by Lumiere that was the basis for Morgan's drawing of Card 1. These represent the earliest publications of the photograph that I have found.
