(1).Describe a news story that has appeared in a newspaper or popular magazine within the past year that refers to some type of non-criminal, abnormal behavior. (Be sure to enclose a copy of the article).

(2). Clearly state the reason(s) that you believe qualify the story as an instance of abnormal behavior. Relate this(these) reason(s) to at least one of "the four D's" mentioned in Chapter 1 of the text.

(3). Explain how you think this behavior might be understood from the point of view of at least one of the six models presented in Chapter 2 of the text.

The paper should be typed, double-spaced, and submitted by class time on Monday, January 28. Papers should not be longer than three pages. Staple the pages together. No cover page or folder of any sort is necessary or desired (save paper and expense). Grammar and spelling are important. The paper will count 5 percent of the course grade.
