Wonjae Hwang's Homepage
Welcome to my homepage. I am an associate professor in political science at University of Tennessee-Knoxville .
I am specialized in Korean politics, currently working on several projects on domestic consequences of disputes on historical issues,
the impact of ODA on foreign policy cooperation, and nuclear policy coordination between US and South Korea,
centering on the North Korean nuclear crisis.
Broadly, my research also focuses on how globalization affects domestic politics and international relations.
Currently, I am examining how bilateral FDI and trade flows affect human rights and intrastate conflict,
how governments employ welfare policies as a response to challenges of globalization,
and how these policies mediate the link between FDI/Trade and human rights/intrastate conflict.
In addition, my other projects examine how economic integration affects states' voting behavior in IOs,
and independence of IOs. Here is my Curriculum Vitae.
