University Unitarian Universalists

Next meeting: Earth Day, Saturday April 22 at the World's Fair Park, more details to come later

We recently lost a member and friend, Chell.

Here is what Rev. Chris Buice wrote in the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church newsletter:

The purpose of the University Unitarian Universalists at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville is to offer support and presence for those seeking spiritual growth consistent with the UUA seven principles; network with other campus ministries to offer interfaith worship and observances; sponsor quality programming on a wide variety of religious/spiritual topics; and provide a denominational presence during times of stress.

We affirm and promote the seven principles of Unitarian Universalism:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person
  • Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations
  • Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth
  • A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
  • The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process
  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all
  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part

Membership is open to all students, faculty, and staff, regardless of race, gender, affectional orientation, disability, religion, or national origin.
