Elizabeth East

I am currently pursuing my M.A. in sociology with a concentration in environmental sociology. My research interests include social change and movements, extractive industries, environmental and climate poverty, development, and environmental and economic justice.

I enjoy non-fiction, photography, bluegrass music, friends and family, and being with and around people in general. In addition to my academic work, I am also an active organizer and participant in student and youth efforts around Fair Trade and environmental issues. This deep connection to movements and social change guides much of my research.
