Joongbaeck Kim
Current Research
Dr. Kim' research focuses on sociological understanding of health inequality. He studies a variety of social determinants of mental/physical health, life stress model, racial residential segregation, and deviant behavior. He received a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008. His dissertation examines social mechanisms linking social contexts –neighborhoods, workplace, and family- to social relationships and health. Dr. Kim’s teaching interest encompasses Race/Ethnicity, Medical Sociology, Research Methods, and Urban Sociology.
