Army Physical Fitness Test

The Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) is administered once a month while school is in session. The first three tests are diagnostic, and the fourth is recorded.
The APFT consists of 2 minutes of pushups, 2 minutes of situps, and a 2-mile run. Each event is worth a maximum of 100 points, for a composite score of up to 300 points. The minimum passing score is 60 points on each event, for a total of 180, however it is recommended that Army officers, as leaders, score at least 270. Below are score tables excerpted from FM 22-20, which governs the APFT's administration and scoring and is available in its entirety in the "Regulations and Manuals" section. Cadets doing more than the required work for a score of 100 points on every event may be scored on the extended scale, which although unofficial is useful for determining a Cadet's fitness beyond the scale of the APFT.
