Tennessee Water Polo

OVERVIEW

Our club was founded in 1992, and has quickly grown and developed into one of the major Collegiate Club Water Polo Programs in the Southeastern region. We offer University of Tennessee students, faculty, and staff--both men and women--an opportunity to learn to play water polo just for fun as well as participate in inter-collegiate club water polo competition through the Southeastern Division of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA). The Club consists of a great diversity of members--diverse in their backgrounds, athletic abilty, water polo skills, and educational goals. Yet this eclectic group manages to remain cohesive because of a love for their sport--Water Polo.

PRACTICES

Sunday 2-4
Monday 6-8
Tuesday 6-8
Thursday 6-8

Official Club practices are held at the UT Student Aquatic Center outdoor pool (deep end). This part of the pool is all-deep water, and is heated so the facility is used year-round, except in the most extremely inclement weather.

This is the outdoor pool of the Student Aquatic Center (SAC). We practice here and host our tournaments in this very pool. We even practice during the winter. We've have practices outside in the snow. Water Polo players are hardcore like that. We're tough. We're swimmers, with balls. Prospective members: don't worry, the pool is heated. During the winter, the aquatic staff usually doesn't vacuum the pool, so you can actually write your name in the algae that grows at the bottom of the pool. It's pretty cool. What's even cooler is how long your name will last down there...
