RECORDS
The University of Tennessee Police Department Records Section is open 8:30am until 4:30 pm Monday through Friday (except Holidays and Administrative Closings). There will be a monetary charge for all reports, photos, or recordings released to private citizens, such as insurance company representatives, defense attorneys, or other non university affiliates.
Records unit personnel request submission of the Request for Records form to ensure that the correct reports, photos, or recordings are released, but if the requesting individual refuses to submit the form, the information will still be provided.
The Request for Records form may be hand delivered, faxed, or mailed with the appropriate payment. There will be no charge for current University staff, students, or faculty.
Upon receipt of the appropriate release forms and identification, background checks are also released.
All requests for copies of video media (VHS and DVD) by government entities, private parties or attorneys are handled in-house through our Records division.
Crime Statistics
The Records section is with TIBRS and Department of Education crime statistics reporting. Ultimately, we will also be able to provide crime trend mapping.
