Lambda Theta Alpha serves thousands of hours each year to a variety of philanthropic causes and needs. In the effort to create a more united and bigger impact nationally, Lambda Theta Alpha selected a national philanthropy. In January of 2010, LTA became an official collegiate partner to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, becoming the first individual Latino Greek organization to commit fully to the hospital's efforts. With this partnership, LTA provides our resources of community service and activism and more importantly, another direct link to the Hispanic community for St. Jude. LTA has pledged to raise awareness about childhood cancer and St. Jude in the Latin community, as well as fundraise for the hospital through a variety of events and programs.

Gamma Gamma’s philanthropy is the Wesley House Community Center. The center offers several different programs to the community to assist all residents, regardless of age. The Wesley House Community Center offers an after school program for children in grades 1-5, summer programs, Pace programs (Performing arts), and senior care for the community's elderly.

The sisters of Gamma Gamma Chapter reach out to the Knoxville Community in many different ways. We, as a chapter, pride ourselves in motivating others to believe in themselves so that they can achieve their goals in life. We volunteer on a weekly basis with the Wesley House and also volunteer and participate in annual community events throughout the state of Tennessee. The sisters of Gamma Gamma chapter have served the community by volunteering at Knoxville’s annual “Boo at the Zoo”, National Council of la Raza's “Día de Avance Latino y Enseñanza”, and at the Williamsburg Villas, an Alzheimer’s care and assisted living facility. Sisters have also served the University of Tennessee campus by holding voter registration drives, participating in the annual “Bleed Orange” Blood Drive, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, and the East Tennessee Children's Hospital Dance Marathon. We also promote Greek unity by serving the community with other fraternities and sororities on campus.

The sisters of Lambda Theta Alpha pride themselves on their devotion to the community. By working with these and other organizations, the sisters of Gamma Gamma chapter will continue to serve the Knoxville and University of Tennessee communities the best we can through community outreach, activism, and service.
