UT Math Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)

The UT Math REU will be held in Summer 2010, pending support from the National Science Foundation. There will be a further update on this website around December 15, 2009, including 2010 projects. Please read these pages, especially the FAQ, before contacting the director with questions that may well be answered here.

Applications are normally due around February 1; a definite deadline will be posted later.

A tentative schedule is a nine-week program from May 31, 2010 through July  30, 2010. Stipends are expected to be at least $4000, and housing will be covered by the program. We also expect to have some funds for students to travel to conferences after the summer.

Participants in our program must receive stipends and housing support provided by our NSF grant, and therefure must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Each year we seek a group of students with diverse backgrounds, especially including students from small colleges or other instutitions who might otherwise not have access to a variety of advanced courses and research experiences. Women, first generation college students and members of other groups traditionally underrepresented in mathematics are especially encouraged to apply.

Below is a list of the 2009 REU participants, by research group. More information on their projects will be posted later.
