Coeus @ the University of Tennessee
Coeus is an electronic research administration system implemented by the University of Tennessee to support researchers and administrators in proposal development and pre- and post-award management. Its purpose is to simplify and streamline award acquisition and administration. Coeus has multiple categories of users. Please note the differences to access the appropriate area for your needs.
Coeus "Lite"
Coeus "Lite" is a user-friendly web browser-based version of Coeus designed for the PI/Co-PI to develop proposals and budgets and submit them for local routing and approval. To access the application, click here then select the "Launch Coeus Lite" link.
Coeus "Premium"
Coeus "Premium" is the full Java-based web application primarily used by "back-office" personnel (business managers, sponsored programs staff) who maintain proposal and award data. It is also used for proposals with complex budgets (multi-unit/campus). To access the application, click here then select "Launch Coeus Java Now."
Both Coeus Lite and Premium can be accessed anytime from any computer with an active Internet connection. To access user documentation or request training assistance, visit our Coeus User Support page.
Coeus Reports
Coeus Reports – a.k.a. "Portal Reports" are for administrators and others who wish to run activity reports (proposals and awards) by department, college, etc. These reports not part of the Coeus application and require separate authorization. To request user access and assistance, contact Tai-Lun Chiang at tchiang@utk.edu or (865) 974-6601. To access Coeus Portal Reports, click here and log in with your NetID and password.
Coeus Abstract Reports
Coeus Abstract Reports allow anyone with a UT NetID and password to search for key words in proposal and award abstracts. To access Coeus Abstract Reports, click here and log in with your NetID and password.
Coeus/IRIS Business Warehouse Reports
Coeus/IRIS Business Warehouse Reports (Award Information) are for administrators needing activity reports containing joint Coeus/IRIS information (awards only). Separate access authorization is required. To access Coeus/IRIS BW reports, click here and log in with your NetID and password. Once you are logged in, select "Reports" from the top menu, then select "Reports" from the left-side menu and choose "Coeus" from options.
