PELL Grants
(A grant is not a loan and it does not have to be paid back) Up to $4,050 a year is available to individuals who want to attend a technical school or college and who can demonstrate financial need as defined by criteria established by the US Department of Education.

HOPE Grants (Georgia residents only)
(A grant is not a loan and it does not have to be paid back) Pays all tuition, mandatory fees, and $100 a quarter toward books at a Georgia technical institution such as Appalachian Tech. The HOPE Grant is available to any Georgia resident who has obtained a high school diploma or GED.
 

To receive the HOPE Grant, or PELL Grant or any other type of financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  You may obtain this form at an EOC office.  A counselor will also assist you in completing the application and filing it electronically.  Contact a local counselor for an appointment.
