The University of Tennessee Bands
Welcome to the UT Band Program
The University of Tennessee Band Program is one of the most prestigious university band programs in the United States. Founded in 1869, the program is known for both its outstanding concert and athletic organizations. University of Tennessee Bands have performed across the country in a variety of venues.
The UT Concert Bands (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Concert Band) have performed at conferences of the Music Educators National Conference, the College Band Directors National Association, and the American Bandmasters Association, as well as in major concert halls across the country, most notably, Carnegie Hall in April 2003.
The renowned 300-member "Pride of the Southland" Marching Band performs weekly to home audiences of 108,000 Volunteer fans in Neyland Stadium on the UT Campus. The "Pride" also travels to many SEC Conference football games, and is often televised on national network TV. The band has made over 40 bowl appearances and has represented the State of Tennessee at the last 11 Presidential Inaugurations.
The UT Pep Bands perform regularly at selected football games, men's and women's basketball games and volleyball matches.

Congratulations to the UT Pep Bands for being voted the #1 Pep Band in the country by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
