Our Purpose

The purpose of URHC is to unite the students living in residence halls through leadership, programming, service, and education

What We Do

Throughout the year, URHC strives to carry on long-standing traditions while building on programs we have organized in the past. Successful programs we’ve organized in the past include Casino Night and The Pro-Am Kickball Tournament. We also participate in several charitable foundations such as Project Linus, Race for the Cure, and Relay for Life.

Membership

All residents currently living on campus at the University of Tennessee or in University Housing are full members of URHC. Members are not required to pay any dues.

History

The United Residence Halls Council can be traced back as far as 1972 when it was known as the Inter-Residence Halls Council. In 1973, the IRHC changed names and has since been known as URHC. United Residence Halls Council is the University’s unique example of the nationwide Residence Hall Associations
