As you develop course proposals, please refer to the statement of purpose below for the General Education curriculum. Existing courses may be submitted directly to firstname.lastname@example.org for review by the appropriate General Education subcommittee (cc College to notify of submission). New courses must first be approved at the College level prior to submission for General Education approval; however, proposals should be submitted concurrently to College and General Education committees in order to ensure sufficient time for review.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE – General education provides the foundation for successful academic study, for lifelong learning, and for carrying out the duties of local, national, and global citizenship. By building basic skills in communication, analysis, and computation as well as by broadening students' historical and cultural perspectives, the general education curriculum helps students acquire an understanding of both self and society, and thus contributes to their personal enrichment while enrolled and after graduation.
Departments that wish to have courses considered for approval are invited to submit course proposals electronically to email@example.com as a Microsoft Word document or as a PDF file. (See links below for proposal submission forms).
