On September 9, 2007 thousands of people attended the 5th Atlanta Turkish Festival at the Piedmont Park. Rafet-El-Roman, a famous Turkish pop music singer, took the stage with Turkish and American flags in hand, greeted the crowd with peace and friendship messages and performed his most beloved songs to the audience.  State senator Curt Thompson presented a gift to honor El Roman and thanked to all organizers who put effort to make this festival possible to Atlantans.
