Ph.D. Teaching/Research Assistantships are available in the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism (HRT) Management program, University of Tennessee. The HRT graduate program stresses excellence in research, teaching, and public service with a focus on hospitality and tourism management, customer service, and the support functions of human resources and marketing. Acceptance into the program is based on a variety of factors including GPA, GRE scores, letters of recommendation, statement of goals, and academic background. The students must satisfy the University requirements and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be enrolled in the Department of Retail, Hospitality, and Tourism Management. The assistantships will be awarded on a competitive basis and are valued at over $30,000 annually. Assistantships include stipend, health insurance and tuition waiver. Review of applications will begin in each month. The successful candidate will start spring, summer, or fall semester.
