Science Education Concentration
Master of Science
Track 1
This program is designed for individuals who have a background in science
and a desire to examine the processes involved in science teaching—instruction,
learning and curriculum. The program requires coursework in science,
science education and general education. Opportunities exist within the
program to integrate instructional technology, to further professional
development, to prepare for careers in informal science settings (museums,
nature centers, aquaria), and to collaborate with researchers and practitioners.
A flexible program structure was intentionally developed to meet the
needs of individual students. Teaching experience at any level from
kindergarten through college is desirable but not required for admission
to the program.
