Master of Science in Teacher Education
Concentration in Foreign Language Education - Track 2
Secondary minor coursework (16 hours)
Following admission to the Teacher Education Program, the WL pre-intern will matriculate the following secondary minor coursework (16 UG hours) prior to the internship year.
CSE 400 (2); EP 210 (3); EP 401 (2); TPTE 355 (3); IT 486 (3); SP ED 402 (2); TPTE 352 (1);
N.B. TPTE 352 and TPTE 355 need to be taken during the spring semester. ONLY EP 210 may be matriculated prior to being admitted to Teacher Education.
Application for the Internship Program:
Following completion of the secondary minor, the pre-intern must:
- Submit proper credentials for admission to the UTK Graduate School

- Submit an internship application to the CEHHS Office of Field Studies one calendar year in advance of the proposed internship year

N.B. The above classes may be taken either before (e.g., for senior privilege credit or in a post-bac/graduate status) or after the 24-hour internship year. The pre-intern is urged to matriculate the graduate-level world language class during the fall or spring semester prior to the internship year, due to the usual unavailability of such a class during the summer semester on campus.
