Dr. Faye E. Patterson, Ed.D.
Faye is an Assistant Professor of Educational Administration and Supervision and Director of the School Administrator Certification Program, Leadership 21. She is the liaison between the University of Tennessee and beginning principals aspiring to obtain the Professional Administrator License (PAL). After receiving an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from University of Memphis and a Master of Arts Degree in School Administration and Supervision from Hampton University (Hampton Institute) in Hampton, VA, Dr. Patterson enjoyed a 25-year career in education. Her experiences included teaching in Texas, Virginia, and the Department of Defense Schools, Germany. She spent 19 years in administration in Prince William County Public Schools, Virginia, including 10 years as an Associate Superintendent. Dr. Patterson’s research interests include educational policies (e.g., accountability, discipline, and zero tolerance), mentoring new principals, and gender equity in preparation programs.
