| Our show site was the Chester and Gail Frankllin Farm, adjacent to US411 North and about 6 miles from Maryville, TN. (map) | ||
| 140 exhibitors displayed 293 items, including 187 farm tractors, 44 engines, 26 lawn & garden tractors, 9 marine engines and a variety of other farm and homestead equipment. | ||
| Show Chairman John Proffitt had two John Deere 830 diesels at the show. This one, a Rice Special, was a breeze to drive through the obstacle course. | ||
| Show Co-chairman Roy Gamble got caught driving a tractor that is the wrong color for him. He's trying John's 830 diesel. | ||
| Johnny and Laura Underwood's grandson put in a hard day on his John Deere. | ||
| Gary Honea's Allis Chalmers Model B runs great and looks sharp following an overhaul and fresh paint job. | ||
| Chester Franklin displayed
a nice looking Farmall Super M. I didn't know who the John Deere
belongs to until I got this e-mail:
"Hey, my name is Bradley. That's my pedal tractor next to Chester's Farmall. I parked it there because I got hot riding around checking out those pretty tractors. My dad showed me the picture and I was suprised! I'm 5 years old and I really enjoy tractors. Well I got to go - mommy says suppers ready. See you this summer. Bradley Morgan" . |

| Johnny Underwood was the first competitor in the Barrel Race. For those of you not familiar with the event, you are timed to see how long it takes to push the barrel through a course. No metal part of the tractor can touch the barrel, and there's a bowling ball in the barrel that makes it somewhat unpredictable. | ||
| One exhibitor brought a collection of chainsaws that included some not-so-familiar brands and two-man saws. This one looks like an old Homelite. | ||
| Howard Jones displayed a variety of farm and homestead equipment, including shop equipment, washing machines and kitchen equipment, plus a stock of good books for sale. | ||
| Jesse Anderson collects outboard motors, expecially Mercurys. Check the article in our Featured Equipment section for a little background about his interest in boat motors. | ||
| Joel Puckett had to clean the fuel system on this engine to get it running properly. In all fairness to Joel, he was not the only one that had to make adjustments and repairs. We all have problems with equipment that is seldom used. | ||
| Ernest Patty brought a collection of pedal tractors that attracted a lot of attention. A lot of folks spotted tractors like they had as kids. | ||
| Robin and Kris Ann Fazio kicked off the Tractor Across Tennessee project - a 550 mile tractor drive from Bristol to Memphis promoting tractor safety. | ||
| The UT Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department students displayed their 1/4 scale pulling tractor that was built for a national design contest and pull sponsored by ASAE and several companies. The UT students placed 4th overall in 1999. Learn more about the project and how to sponsor the UT team. | ||
