County Profiles: Hotel, Restaurant, & Travel Buisness Trends

These Tennessee county profiles show detailed economic and business trends of the hotel, restaurant, and travel industries. The 7-20 page county profiles include tax, sales, and firm growth trends, as well as airport traffic information and hotel operating statistics. Hotel operating statistics are courtesy of Smith Travel Research in Hendersonville, TN.

Note: The purpose of this report is to examine the direct business activity in the hotel, restaurant, and travel sectors of the local economy generated from all consumer spending (both tourist and non-tourist). This report is not an economic impact report of tourist spending. For a county economic impact report with multiplier impacts on jobs and revenues, see the publication The Economic Impact of Travel on Tennessee Counties from the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development here.

One-Page County Tourism Economic Fact Sheets

Available for all 95 Tennessee counties, these one-page tourism economic fact sheets include 2006 impacts reported by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. In addition, these fact sheets include a new level of analysis reporting tourist spending on an average daily basis in restaurants, hotels, transportation, and entertainment.
