Estrellita Accelerated Beginning Spanish Reading
Estrellita Accelerated Beginning Spanish Reading is an educational reading program in Spanish for dominant Spanish speakers. It is intended to be used by educators in bilingual classrooms. It is not a program or method for teaching the general public how to speak Spanish.  This web page has a great links page that includes Latino Resources on the Net, Bilingual Education Resources on the Net, and Primary Education (K-3) Resources For Bilingual Educators.

Migrant Education Program
This web site includes:  information on grant opportunities, new materials, grant award announcements, a calendar of events where you can submit an event of interest to migrant educators, grant information, info about each state's Migrant Education activities, links to online information about the Migrant Education Program, and descriptions of publications of interest to the migrant education community.

The migrant education program is based on the premise that migrant children, although affected by poverty and the migrant lifestyle can and should have the opportunity to realize their full academic potential.

Migrant Head Start Quality Improvement Technical Assistance Support Center
This is the home page for Migrant Head Start Quality Improvement Technical Assistance Support Center.  Migrant Head Start provides Head Start services for the children of eligible mobile migrant farmworkers across the country. The Quality Improvement [Technical Assistance Support] Center, through the Academy for Educational Development's contract with the Department of Health and Human Services, provides technical assistance to Migrant Head Start grantees and delegate agencies.

New York State Migrant Education Homepage
This page provides information about the Migrant Education programs supported by the University of New York at Oneonta and the New York State Education Department. Programs described on the New York State Migrant Education Homepage include the Eastern Stream Center on Resources and Training (ESCORT), which provides technical and coordination assistance to Migrant Education programs in 21 eastern states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Other programs include the Migrant Youth Programs, the New York State Portable Assisted Study Sequence (PASS) program, and the Oneonta Migrant Education Outreach Program. This website deals mainly with Farmworker health issues.  It includes links to these and other health care pages: Cabot Westside Clinic, Diversity Rx, Health Hippo, Pan American Health Organization.

(Cabot Westside Clinic provides bilingual medical, dental and nursing services to about 350 migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their family members each year in Lexington, Missouri during the apple harvest between August and October. Diversity Rx provides info explaining the affect of language and culture on the delivery of quality services to ethnically diverse populations. Here, policymakers, health care providers, and consumer representatives can find resources to learn about language and cultural competence in health care, design better programs and policies, and network with colleagues and experts. Health Hippo provides a collection of policy and regulatory materials related to health care. Pan American Health Organization is an international agency specializing in health.  Its stated mission is "to cooperate technically with its Member Countries and to stimulate cooperation among them in order that, while maintaining a healthy environment and charting a course to sustainable human development, the peoples of the Americas may achieve health for all and by all."
