START

Christina Goode was invited to share information about the Student Technology Assistance for Research and Technology program. This program is funded by the Technology Fee and is beginning its third year in 2007. Students are selected and trained to support faculty in integrating technologies into their research, teaching, and learning environments. Students assist faculty in developing webpages, Power Point presentations, DVDs, podcasts and other multimedia as needed. Examples of some of their projects can be seen at http://itc.utk.edu/services/start/completed/start2.shtml.

In addition to hands on experience collaborating with faculty of many disciplines, START students staff the Commons and provide training to students using the equipment located in the Practice Presentation and group rooms.

The START program has been well received by faculty.

CTRAX

Law Schuelke asked about the status of CTRAX, the current music subscription service available to faculty, staff and students. He is interested in promoting the service within Morrill Hall. Stan Pinkleton suggested he work with Ron Laffitte, Associate Dean, to develop a potential marketing event.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting of the Technology Advisory Board is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 2:30 PM, AHT, 4th floor Conference Room.
