UTK Technology Fee
The Technology Fee provides funding to enhance the technological infrastructure
required to leverage information technology for students in teaching, learning,
and research. This fee supports a number of basic computing and telecommunications
services: central computing and server facilities; on-line documentation
and computer-based training courses; student computer labs; a select set
of software products at no charge; and student support services.
Some of the services provided by Technology Fee include:
Tech Fee Program Initiatives
ASSP
- Subsidizes the cost of software for students and for departmental
computer laboratories in support of academic course work. For a complete
list of the software, see the ASSP
page. These programs can be downloaded from the OIT
Software Download Area.
DLABS
- Provides help to departments in managing their academic computing
laboratories through a formal process of sharing technical knowledge
and expertise in laboratory management.
Laptop Loaner program - laptops are available for checkout
by any current UT student to borrow from the Commons room 235, Hodges
Library Main Cirulation Desk (2nd Floor), and at the AgVetMed and
Music
Libraries.
START
- The OIT Innovative Technologies Center offers technical and pedagogical
support in integrating technologies into the research, teaching, and
learning environments with the Student Technology Assistants for Research
and Teaching (START) program. The START program request form is available
