You CAN go to college!

Many websites out there will offer financial aid and scholarship searches for a fee. Fortunately, there are also many online resources that you can search on your own, free! We have listed the sites below to help you in your search.


General financial-aid resources

www.fafsa.ed.gov - Apply for financial aid on the web (cuts processing time from 4-6 weeks to 1-2 weeks - which can help avoid deadlines and make $$, helps you avoid mistakes; still need to print and sign the signature page

www.ed.gov/finaid.html - The Department of Education's website; contains an electronic FAFSA, school codes and more

www.ftc.gov - Thinking about paying for a scholarship search? Check out the service provider first to be sure it’s legitimate, because there are some fraudulent ones. To assist you in your research, the Federal Trade Commission posts a list of defendants and settlements in its scholarship-fraud cases at this Web site. (Note: This site only lists those service providers that have been prosecuted by the FTC.)
