Lauren Johnson
Lauren is a senior in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry. In addition to being very active in SWE, Lauren serves as Vice Chair of the UT Visual Arts Committee and is a member of Tau Beta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi, and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. After obtaining her undergraduate degrees, she plans to continue her education in graduate school and become a professor.

Gemma Dove
Gemma is a senior in Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics. She is in the Chancellor's Honors program at UT, and is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. She also mentors elementary school children as a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and volunteers with local Girl Scout troops. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, she intends to pursue a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Brittany Caldwell
Brittany is a senior in Biomedical Engineering from Kingsport, TN. She is a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority and Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. After college Brittany would like to obtain an MBA and work in the business side of the medical industry. Currently, she works at the Center for Musculoskeletal Research.

Beth is a senior in Aerospace Engineering. In addition to being active in SWE, she is a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Order of Omega Greek Honor Society, and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Beth would like to purse a graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering.

Kiersten White
Kiersten is a sophomore in Biomedical Engineering from Stevensville, MD. She is also pursuing other interests of hers with a minor in Nutrition and Journalism. Not only is Kiersten a member of SWE, but is also very involved with community service and Volunteers for Christ. She currently works at RecSports as a group fitness instructor. Kiersten is not exactly sure what she will do with her degree after school, but knows that she will definitely do something related to the medical and healthcare field.

Marsha Lynn Bartholomay
Marsha Bartholomay is a sophomore in Nuclear Engineering from Jordan, MN. She is in the Chancellor’s Honors Program at UT. In addition to SWE, Marsha is active in UT’s chapter of collegiate 4-H. She also hopes to become more involved in the American Nuclear Society, the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management, and Women in Nuclear. Marsha intends to pursue a graduate degree in Nuclear Engineering.

Dr. Veerle Keepens
Faculty, Materials Science and Engineering
Veerle Keppens is an assistant professor at UT where she is leading the resonant ultrasound spectroscopy (RUS) research group. She graduated in 1995 from the K. U. Leuven (Belgium), where she studied the low-temperature properties of amorphous solids using ultrasonic attenuation and velocity measurements. From 1995 to 1998 she was a Fulbright fellow in the novel materials group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where she became interested in the elastic properties of new materials. In 1998 she received a Humboldt-fellowship to do research at the Institut fuer angewandte Physik in Heidelberg. She joined the Ole Miss faculty in the fall of 1999 as an assistant professor of physics and staff scientist at NCPA. She joined the UT faculty in the Fall of 2003. |
