Why join SWE? Women are a minority in the field of engineering, representing only about 10.6 percent* of the total employed engineers in the United States. Becoming active in UT's chapter of SWE puts students in contact with other women engineers, allowing them to build networks and learn more about opportunities in their respective fields. SWE is a great organization that is nationally recognized. UT SWE offers numerous corporate, academic, and social opportunities. SWE is a great way to meet other engineering students and get involved. You will also have your resume placed on a cd for companies if you choose this option. JOIN today! You must be a national SWE member to include SWE as an activity on your resume. Follow these 4 easy steps to become a national member: 1. Sign up or renew your membership at National SWE online by clicking here. 2. Download the UT SWE membership form. 3. Email the form to swe@utk.edu. Please add swe@utk.edu to your safe-senders list.
