Welcome to the Student Loan Department

The Student Loan Department’s primary role is to administer UT Knoxville’s campus-based student loans. Campus-based loan programs include the US Department of Education’s Federal Perkins Loans, the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Nursing Faculty Loans and the University’s 11 institutional loans.

Our goal is to complement the mission and goals of the University through a commitment to exceptional and equitable service to students and alumni.

We support this goal by maintaining the highest level of fiduciary responsibility in:

• disbursing, billing and collecting loan funds
• maintaining a low student loan default rate
• insuring data security
• providing financial counseling
