Periodically, the Social Science Research Institute conducts state-wide
public opinion polls in Tennessee.
Most of these surveys assess Tennesseans' attitudes on political, social
and economic issues. The Tennessee Poll is customarily conducted in
conjunction with state-wide and national elections.

In 2003 SSRI conducted its first local public opinion poll. The
Knoxville/Knox County Poll surveyed Knoxvillians
on the 2003 Mayoral election and a number of city issues. In addition,
residents of both Knoxville and KnoxCounty were surveyed on a number of
issues of relevance across the county.
