Mott Elastic Scattering Cross Section Calculations
We have made a complete set of first principles Mott elastic scattering cross-section calculations covering the periodic table and for energies from 20eV to 30eV. Read me file
The files have names of the form MXX1.dat where XX is the standard (American) chemical symbol for the element e.g. Au, Be, Cu, etc. Thus MFE1.dat is the data set for ion. If the element symbol is a single letter (B, C, I etc) then it is doubled, this MPP1.dat is the data set for phosphorus. The numeral "1" where appended indicates that the data has had an exchange connection applied. For complete details of the computational method, see Czyzewski et al. J. Appl. The data for each element in the tables is in 26 blocks each with 97 entries. Each block represents one energy; the energies are 20, 50, 75, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 eV. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 keV.
Within a block the values given are the Mott differential scattering cross-section in cm^2/atom for the specified angle. The angles are 0.1 degree, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 degrees, then by 2 degree steps to 180 degrees. The 97th value in the table is the total Mott cross-section for that energy value.
