Dr. Michael Handelsman
Dr. Michael H. Handelsman

Professor

Dr. Handelsman is a specialist in Spanish-American literature and Latin American Studies. He has published extensively on women writers, literary journals, concepts of national identity, and Afro-Hispanic culture. Much of his research has focused on applying Latin American themes to the literature and culture of Ecuador. Two of his most recent books are Lo afro y la plurinacionalidad: el caso ecuatoriano visto desde su literatura (1999) and Culture and Customs of Ecuador (2000). Dr. Handelsman is a verstatile teacher who enjoys sharing with students at all levels his passion for Latin America.
