New Fraternity House Under Construction

Sigma Nu is the only fraternity on campus who is in the process of building a new fraternity house. The $2.1 million house will be located on the site of the old Sigma Nu house at 1824 Fraternity Park Drive. The old house was torn down in January and ground breaking for the new house is schedule for the spring. Currently, the new fraternity house is scheduled to open in Spring Semester 2010. Sigma Nu will be building a new, affordable fraternity house that is safe and meets the demands of the twenty-first century college student. The proposed new house will be a modern, fully functional fraternity home and will include:

  • a required fire sprinkler system,
  • an elevator and other ADA compliance items,
  • new smoke and fire detection systems,
  • redesigned dorm rooms to include sleeping and expanded storage facilities, and
  • modern computer and information technology connections to the campus community

JDRF benefits from annual Fowl Fest

Sigma Nu’s annual spring Fowl Fest to raise money for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Each spring semester Sigma Nu sponsors Fowl Fest, which is an afternoon of events that campus sororities participate. This year Sigma Nu raised $1,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Chapter Receives Increase in Manpower Award

The Epsilon Eta Chapter received the “Increase in Manpower Award” from headquarters at the 2007 Sigma Nu Fraternity College of Chapters in Lexington, Virginia. This award recognized the chapter’s outstanding diligence in increasing the chapter size.  Epsilon Eta had 31 new initiates from Fall 2006 through Spring 2007.

Cory Tickle Named UT's Greek Man of the Year

Cory Tickle, EH 1414, former Epsilon Eta Commander and 2007 graduate, was recently names the University of Tennessee “Greek Man of the Year.”
