In 1874, five young women founded Sigma Kappa on these endearing values. Today, each member strives for those same ideals as a part of the Alpha Delta Chapter founded in 1921 at the University of Tennessee. Sigma Kappa is one of our country's most vital women's organizations, with more than 100 active college chapters in 36 states and the District of Columbia. Our goal, to help each member develop to her greatest potential, manifests itself primarily through a commitment to academic excellence. Within a supportive environment, each Sigma Kappa is expected to do her best as well as help other sisters achieve their greatest potential.
