Dr. Rick Prenshaw has been with UT Student Health Service
since 1988 and has been Medical Coordinator since 1996. He received a B.A. in Chemistry from the
University of Southern Mississippi in 1976. While in college,
he was in the University Honors Program and was active in
Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship.
Dr. Prenshaw graduated from the University of Mississippi
Medical School in 1980 and completed his residency at the
University of Tennessee College of Medicine (Chattanooga
unit), where he received training in Family Practice and
Pediatrics. He has been board certified by the American Board
of Pediatrics since 1986.
"Working with college students is very rewarding. I
believe that the body, mind and spirit are all important
factors in leading a healthy lifestyle, and I enjoy helping
students learn ways to practice better health habits."
Dr. Prenshaw also enjoys reading, hiking, backpacking and various
church-related activities with his family.
Most patients are seen by appointment. You can schedule
an appointment either by calling 974-3648 or by personal
appearance at the appointment desk in our lobby. After your
visit, my nurse or I will contact you for abnormal lab
results. If you need to contact me or are inquiring
about lab results, please call 974-2275. If you are feeling
worse or not improving as expected, please call 974-3648 to
schedule a follow-up appointment. I will not call in
antibiotic prescriptions without seeing you.
