Lindsay McClain is this year's Volunteer of the Year. Lindsay received this important and richly deserved award for her work with Knoxville Jazz for Justice in Uganda, as well as for her volunteer efforts on campus and in the community.

Mitchell Ronningen received the first-ever student leadership award from the Chancellor's Commission for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Persons. The award presenter called him "an eloquent, effective, and tireless advocate for equal treatment of every individual in our campus community." He is.

John Rader recieved The Torchbearer Award, for those outstanding leaders who "shadow themselves to give light to others." This is the highest student honor on our campus.  John Rader has been a Torchbearer for as long as I have known him. Last night that became official.
