Description of Program: My program follows the multidisciplinary path of Cognitive Science, focusing specifically on the tools of Neuroscience to better study the mind. I plan to work on an integration of the cognitive, systems, and computational approaches to neuroscience.

Departmental Emphases: Psychology, Computer Science, Cellular & Molecular Biology

Faculty Mentor: Mathew Cooper (Psychology) and Neil Greenberg (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology)

Plans after graduation (career, graduate/professional school, etc.): Complete a PhD in Neuroscience.

Other Academic Interests: History, Philosophy, and Evolutionary Psychology

Study Abroad: I Plan to study abroad at University College, London, in the spring of 2010.

Research Experiences or Internships: At the University of Tennessee, I have been involved in two psychological research labs. Starting in my freshman year I worked under Dr. Jenny Macfie studying developmental psychopathology. Currently I am working under Dr. Matthew Cooper looking at the behavioral and physiological changes resulting from social stress in Syrian hamsters. This summer I will be working under Dr. Vivien Casagrande at Vanderbilt. There I will be studying the visual system as well as working on a quantitative neuroscience project.

Part-time employment; Hobbies; Campus Clubs/Activities: Director for The Second Story Fund, Visual Arts Committee Treasurer, travel, and tennis.
