Description of Program: During my program, I am taking classes to learn more about the fundamentals of economics, US public policy, and international relations, especially as they apply to Africa and developing nations. My senior project will be an analysis of past and present economic and political interactions between the United States and African nations and a proposal of ways to revise current programs to better benefit the United States and Africa, as well as create ideas for new initiatives to focus US aid.

Plans after graduation (career, graduate/professional school, etc.): I plan to attend graduate school and receive a post-Baccalaureate degree in international development economics. I hope to use the policy proposals in my senior thesis as something I may expand upon during graduate school. After that, it is my hope to enter the Presidential Management Fellows program and begin working for the United States government as a diplomat or advisor on economic issues and African development.

Part-time employment; Hobbies; Campus Clubs/Activities: I work as a manager and referee with RecSports intramural program. I also serve as a student Senator for Andy Holt Apartments, and I am a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. I am a member of the Baker Scholars program and serve as a museum and building docent for the Howard H. Baker, Jr. Center for Public Policy.
