Prospective Students

Admission to the program is based on previous academic accomplishments, test scores, references, the written answers to some questions and an interview. Students can apply after one semester at UT, Knoxville or as late as the end of their sophomore year. Applications are accepted during the fall and spring semesters of each year, and deadlines are October 15 and March 15 respectively.

Upon review by the admissions committee, applicants will be invited for an interview conducted by the director of the program and a panel of current Scholars and members of the admissions committee. Prospective applicants are encouraged to discuss their interests with other students in the program, their advisors, and/or the director of the program before applying.
