Each lawyer takes a discovery deposition of the
otherís client, of witnesses to the accident, and of
the physician who treated the Ms. Smith.
The defense lawyer demands that the plaintiff
answer under oath a series of interrogatories
detailing any damages to her vehicle, her medical
expenses, loss of income, and so forth.
The defense attorney may ask the court to require
Ms. Smith to be examined by a physician of the
defendantís choosing who will likely be called to
testify on behalf of the defense.
