The Mission of the Exercise Science Program at the University of Tennessee is to prepare students for careers in health-related fitness and for graduate or professional study in medicine or allied health professions.

Recreation Administration concentration: Mission of the Recreation and Leisure Studies Program at the University of Tennessee is to prepare students for management and leadership positions in the recreation and leisure service industry.
Therapeutic Recreation concentration: The Mission of the Therapeutic Recreation Program at the University of Tennessee is to prepare students for employment in management and leadership positions with agencies that deliver health care services.

The Mission of the Sport Management Program at the University of Tennessee is to prepare dynamic leaders for tomorrow's sport industry through scholarship, leadership, diversity, and quality academic and practical experience.
