Dr. Craig Wrisberg
Dr. Craig A. Wrisberg is a Professor of Sport Psychology and teaches courses in applied sport psychology, performance enhancement, and the research process in sport psychology. He is past President of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and the North American Society for the Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity and is an Active Fellow and Certified Consultant of AASP. He has over 90 refereed journal articles and book chapters, and two books. He has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences. In 1992, he served as a visiting professor of sport psychology at Philipps University in Marburg, Germany.
Since 1981, Dr. Wrisberg has provided mental training services for athletes and coaches in the Departments of Men's and Women's Athletics at the University of Tennessee. Annually, he and other mental training staff work with over 70 individual athletes and several entire men's and women's teams. Among the athletes he has personally assisted in the past 20 years are 35 NCAA champions and 12 individuals that currently participate in professional sports.
A native of St. Louis, MO, Dr. Wrisberg has a B.A. degree in physical education from Greenville College (Illinois), a M.A. degree in physical education from Indiana State University, and two degrees from the University of Michigan (M.A. in psychology; Ph.D. in education).
